Getting to the camp from San José (SJO) takes around 6–7 hours, so planning ahead is key.
Option 1: Private Lapoint Transfer
We recommend arriving in San José the night before or very early Monday morning. If you plan to arrive on Monday, aim for a flight that lands before 6:00 AM, as the last transfer leaves at 8:00 AM. Afternoon transfers are not available.
Most guests stay at the Holiday Inn Express San José Airport before their transfer. We pick up guests from there at 8:00 AM, but you’re free to stay at any nearby airport hotel and join the transfer at Holiday Inn.
This is the address of Holiday Inn:
Holiday Inn Express San Jose Costa Rica Airport Hotel
1min from Juan Santamaria Arpt, Alajuela, 2-1017, Costa Rica
You can book this transfer when you reserve your surf camp or add it later.
Option 2: Domestic Flight to Cobano Airport
Flying from San José to Cobano Airport, about 30 minutes from the camp, takes 25 minutes. We recommend landing in San José no later than 2:30 PM to catch the latest flight at 5:00 PM.
Airlines serving this route are Green Airways and Sansa Airlines. We can arrange a pick-up at Cobano Airport for approximately $50 per person.
Can Lapoint help with transfers back to San José Airport?
Yes! We can organize your return transfer. Our van leaves the camp around 9:00 AM on Monday and reaches San José around 3:00 PM.
If your flight is on Monday, book a late afternoon or evening departure, or consider staying overnight in San José and flying on Tuesday. You can arrange your return transfer once you’re at the camp.
