Costa Rica has two main surf seasons, each offering a unique experience for surfers of all levels.
Dry Season: November to April
The dry season brings warm, sunny days and clean, beginner-friendly waves. This is the most popular time for tourists, so expect a lively vibe at the beaches. It’s perfect if you want consistent waves and plenty of sunshine for your surf and beach days.
Wet Season: May to October
During the wet season, short tropical showers are common, but the weather stays warm and lush. The surf tends to be slightly more challenging, making it exciting for intermediate and advanced surfers. Plus, the lineups are quieter, giving you more space to enjoy the waves.
