ARRIVAL at San Jose airport  (SJO) Juan Santamaría International Airport

Option 1

We recommend that you arrive in San Jose the night before you need to be at the camp or super early in the morning on Monday. The reason for this is that it takes around 6-7 hours to get to the camp from San Jose. If you decide to arrive on Monday make sure you do so before 04:00 AM as the last transfer leaves San José at 06:00 AM and there are no afternoon transfers.

There are multiple shuttle companies that can take you to Santa Teresa we recommend booking with TROPICAL TOURS SHUTTLE the cost is around 65 USD per person.

Or check with your hotel if they can help organise a shuttle for you. Most Lapoint guests choose to stay at Holiday Inn Express, in Alajuela, due to the convenience and how close it is to the airport.

Transfer back to San José: Our transfer leaves the camp around 7 am on Monday. It arrives in San José around 2 pm so if you are flying out on Monday we recommend that you book a late afternoon or night flight. You can also book one night in San José and then fly out on Tuesday instead. You can book this transfer while at the camp.

Option 2

You can choose to fly from San Jose to Tambour airport. This you will have to arrange yourself and is the most expensive way to get to the camp but works well if you are short on time. Flights are between 100-150 USD usually. We can arrange to pick you up from Tambour, it's a bit over an hour's drive and costs 55 USD.

We have a shuttle leaving the camp on Monday around 9h00. As it is a 6-hour drive, you will be arriving at the airport in San Jose around 15h00. Please keep that in mind when booking your return flight, as we advise you to book an evening flight on Monday. The transfer back to the airport costs 65EUR/person.
